5.1 Planning Applications
The following applications were considered and responses agreed:
20170319 – Sub-Division of Plots & Erection of Two Detached Bungalows
and Garaging – Rear of 58 & 60 Woodland Road, Hellesdon NR6 5RW
RESOLVED TO OBJECT on grounds that this is backland development,
and with inadequate provision of parking.

20170230 – Sub-Division of Gardens & Erection of Dwelling – Land adjacent
to 4 Chapel Court, Hellesdon NR6 5NU

 Representations from a member of the public were taken into account during
the discussion. It was RESOLVED to OBJECT on grounds that the
proposal was inconsistent with the current street scene and would
overlook adjacent properties.

20170363 – Demolition of Outbuilding for the erection of a two-storey dwelling
with associated access – 97 Low Road, Hellesdon NR6 5AG
RESOLVED to OBJECT on grounds that with access off Wensum Valley
Close, the proposed property would have no immediate access to an
adopted highway. There was also concern that this might set a
precedent for future development.

20170351 – Two Storey Extensions to side and rear – 23 Eversley Road,
Hellesdon NR6 6TA – RESOLVED to SUPPORT

06 Exchange of Information
Cllr Gurney addressed the meeting with regard to three sites in Hellesdon that
had been earmarked as recreational land, but not recognised as such by
Broadland District Council. The issue would be discussed fully by the
Property, Policy & Resources Committee and the relevant “Call for Sites”
submissions agreed.

Cllr Gurney also reported that the development of the new road into the golf
course site had been delayed due to protracted negotiations. These were
now complete with the site sold for £17m, the Phase 1 road would commence
end August/beginning September to allow for the bird nesting season.

This was confirmed as Tuesday 4 April 2017 at 6.15pm. in the Council
