PHA007 Hellesdon Middletons Lane – new zebra pedestrian crossing point

Work will start on or after Monday 27 July to build a new zebra pedestrian crossing point on Middletons Lane in Hellesdon. The work is set to make it safer to cross the road by installing a zebra crossing point and a raised table in the carriageway, approximately 20 metres north of the junction of Middletons Lane and Kinsale Avenue. The work is expected to take approximately 6 weeks to complete, weather permitting.

To ensure the work is completed swiftly and safely, works will be initially carried out under lane closure. However towards the end of the project will then be necessary to close the road for 11 days from 27/08/20. This is to allow drainage works and carriageway resurfacing to be carried out. Pedestrian access will be maintained and an official diversion route will be in place and will be clearly marked.

Due to the nature of the work there will be times when sections of the road and pavement, including vehicular accesses to properties, will be temporarily unavailable. During these times residents are asked to park their vehicles at alternative locations. Anyone who has any specific access requirements can contact us using the email address below, or speak to the team on site, so these can be accommodated wherever possible.

The County Council thanks people for their patience during this work to install a new crossing.

The work which will cost £80,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council and their contractors.
