Woodland Road, Hellesdon – Pavement Reconstruction – UPDATE

Pavement reconstruction works along Woodland Road started on the 7 April 2026 and remain on schedule for completion within 14 weeks of the start date, weather permitting. The work is seeing the existing damaged pavement surface removed and replaced with a new asphalt surface, and damaged kerbs at vehicular accesses are being replaced.

To ensure that works can be carried out safely, the temporary road closure at the junction between Bernham Road and Woodland Road that was previously planned from the 19 June 2026 to the 8 July 2026, will now be in place from the 8 June 2026 to the 3 July 2026. Access to Bernham Road will therefore only be from Reepham Road within this time period.

Residential and emergency access, as well as access to Woodland Care Home will remain as the only access being provided along Woodland Road, but this will now be from north-east of the junction with Plantation Road. The pedestrian alleyway at the end of Woodland Road linking to Bernham Road is no longer temporarily closed as pavement reconstruction works have been completed at its entrance.

Access to properties will continue to be maintained throughout the works duration, however, as stated in the previous Public Information Notice, there may be some brief periods where vehicular accesses to an individual property is restricted while work takes place in front of a driveway.

The County Council thanks people for their patience while this pavement improvement work is carried out.

The work which will cost £165,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors.
