Temporary Traffic Order

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (HELLESDON)

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION ORDER 2021

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 Section 14(1)

 

ORDER:

 

  1. restricting the use by vehicles of the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road from its junction with the southern roundabout A1270 Broadland Northway to its junction with the A140 Boundary Road/Mile Cross Lane (hereinafter referred to as the said road (a));

 

  1. prohibiting the use by vehicles of the:-

 

(i)         Middleton’s Lane from its junction with the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road for 20m south westwards (hereinafter referred to as the said road (b));

(ii)        Meadow Way from its junction with the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road for 20m westwards (hereinafter referred to as the said road (c));

(iii)       Fifers Lane (Including Off Slip) from its junction with the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road for 20m eastwards (hereinafter referred to as the said road (d));

(iv)       Heath Crescent from its junction with the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road for 10m eastwards (hereinafter referred to as the said road (e));

(v)        Bramble Avenue from its junction with the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road for 10m westwards (hereinafter referred to as the said road (f));

(vi)       Brabazon Road from its junction with the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road for 10m eastwards (hereinafter referred to as the said road (g));

(vii)     Waldemar Avenue from its junction with the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road for 5m eastwards (hereinafter referred to as the said road (h));

(viii)     Heather Avenue from its junction with the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road for 5m westwards (hereinafter referred to as the said road (i));

(ix)      Mayfield Avenue from its junction with the A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road for 10m eastwards (hereinafter referred to as the said road (j));

in the PARISH OF HELLESDON

 

 

  1. Save as provided in Article 2 of this Order and whereas the Norfolk County Council as Traffic Authority for the Administrative County of Norfolk is satisfied that carriageway resurfacing works are required at the said roads (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) and (j) and that in consequence with effect from 25th October to 3rd December 2021:-

 

(i)         no person using the said road (a) shall drive a motor vehicle on any affected length of the road at a speed exceeding that denoted by the temporary speed limit signs displayed in accordance with Diagram 670 of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016, as amended, which will be displayed on the affected length of road;

 

(ii)        traffic over the said road (a) should be subject to a temporary imposition of a one way system (south eastbound) to allow vehicles to travel towards the City Centre only; and

 

(iii)       traffic over the said roads (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) and (j) should be prohibited only whilst traffic signs indicating the closures are in place;

 

for the duration of the works expected to be about 39 days within the period.

 

  1. Nothing in Article 1 of this Order shall make it unlawful for a vehicle which requires access, to proceed to a final destination situated within the length of road specified in Article 1 of this Order.

 

  1. This Order has a maximum duration of 18 months and will be revoked upon completion of the works. Where exceptional circumstances are encountered during the performance of the works specified in this Order the operational period of this Order may become extended to allow completion of the works after obtaining consent of the Secretary of State.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE the Norfolk County Council DO HEREBY ORDER, that with effect from 25th October to 3rd December 2021 for the duration of the works the said road (a) SHALL BE SUBJECT to the imposition of the variable Speed Restriction and also SHALL BE SUBJECT to the imposition of a temporary one-way restriction north westbound; and the said roads (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) and (j) SHALL NOT BE USED by any class of vehicle only whilst traffic signs indicating the closures are in place.
